There are mainly 3 types of smoke detectors

b. Photoelectric Smoke Detectors: Which mainly uses a light source to shine into a sensing chamber. When smoke enters the chamber, it reflects light onto a light sensor, which triggers the alarm.
c. Linear Infrared Detectors: These systems use beams of infrared lights to detect objects. The detector has an emitter that sends out infrared rays, and a receiver that detects the reflected rays. When an object blocks the path between the emitter and the receiver, the alarm is triggered.
